Motorists warned to expect delays after coach collision on M1 causes serious injuries
Crash happened at 6.45am,closing the northbound M1 between junctions 12 and 13
People have been seriously injured after a collision between a coach and car on the M1 in Bedfordshire.
The collision happened near Flitwick between junctions 12 and 13, at 6.45am, with the northbound carriageway currently closed while officials investigate.
Bedfordshire Police said in a statement: "The northbound carriageway only has been closed for a full collision investigation and diversions are being established.
"Motorists are advised that these diversions are likely to be in place for most of the day and to plan alternative routes."
Drivers are being taken off the motorway at Junction 12 and will find diversion signs that direct them through Westoning, Flitwick, Steppingley and on to the A507. They are then signposted to Ridgmont and back to Junction 13.
