Naya Rivera pregnant: Did Glee star intentionally announce news on day of Big Sean album release?
Naya Rivera has been deemed "petty" after announcing her pregnancy on the same day ex-fiancé Big Sean released his new album.
The Glee star, who is expecting her first child with husband Ryan Dorsey, revealed her baby news on her blog on 24 February. "Surprise! We're having a baby! Ryan and I feel so blessed and can't wait to welcome the newest member of our family," she wrote, posting a childhood photo of herself and one of her husband.
The 28-year-old actress' excitement spilled over on to Instagram where she shared a photo of a "bun in the oven", signed "XO, The Dorseys".
Her Twitter feed was quickly flooded with congratulatory messages.
But not all fans were impressed with her timing, claiming she intentionally tried to steal Big Sean's thunder. The hip-hop star had dropped his highly-anticipated forth studio album, Dark Sky Paradise, earlier in the day.
In October 2013, Rivera and the Mercy rapper, born Sean Anderson, got engaged after a whirlwind romance. But within months, the couple had gone their separate ways despite previously gushing about their love.
"After careful thought and much consideration, Sean has made the difficult decision to call the wedding off," Sean's representative told Us Weekly.
"The recent rumours and accusations reported by so called or fake sources are simply untrue. Sean wishes Naya nothing but the best and it is still his hope that they can continue to work through their issues privately. We will not be commenting again on this matter."
In the wake of their acrimonious split, Rivera accused Big Sean of stealing from her and he branded her a "crazy bitch" in his track I Don't F**k with You, which was allegedly inspired by their turbulent romance.
In July 2014, Rivera married Dorsey in an intimate ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on the same day she had planned to marry Big Sean.
"We feel truly blessed to be joined as husband and wife," the couple told People magazine at the time. "Our special day was fated and everything we could have ever asked for."
