Nina Dobrev dating rumours: Selena Gomez played matchmaker for the Vampire Diaries star and Austin Stowell

Nina Dobrev is rumoured to be dating Austin Stowell, and Selena Gomez apparently played matchmaker for the couple.

The singer set up Nina Dobrev and Austin Stowell on a date and the two clicked. According to Hollywood Life, when Selena was filming in Atlanta, she asked her co-star to go an a date with Dobrev.

"Selena and Austin became close friends while filming In Dubious Battle in Atlanta. It was Selena who went on and on about how wonderful and beautiful and talented Nina is. Austin and Nina are both signed to the same agency CAA and had crossed paths before, but it wasn't until spending time in Atlanta that they really got to know each other," an insider told the website.

The source added, "This was back in January, so the two of them have been seeing each other since then. They've just recently decided to go public with their romance. So Selena could be considered a matchmaker."

As previously reported, Nina and Austin went to Jamie King's baby shower, where she referred to him as her boyfriend.

At the party, "Nina introduced Austin as her boyfriend to people who didn't know him. Most of the people there knew each other. They were glued to each other. Either holding hands the entire time to they had their arms around each other. They both seemed really happy, especially Nina," an eyewitness told Hollywood Life.

Two weeks ago Stowell joined Dobrev and her friends, including Aaron and Lauren Paul, for a group dinner benefiting Lauren's Kind Campaign.
