Nintendo Direct: 3DS and Wii U broadcast set for 1 April
Nintendo's next Nintendo Direct broadcast will take place on Wednesday, 1 April at 11pm BST and include updates on games for Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS.
The Nintendo of Europe Twitter account confirmed the news in a tweet below. The Nintendo of America account also confirmed a Treehouse presentation which will follow the broadcast "featuring one of our spring releases".
The tweet above states the event will take place on 2 April due to its use of Central European Time for the start time. In the UK the event will be streamed at 11pm, in North America it will be streamed at 3pm PT / 6pm EST.
Games to expect at the event include Wii U family shooter Splatoon, 3DS remake Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, Codename S.T.E.A.M for 3DS and Mario Maker and Yoshi's Wolly World for Wii U. Nintendo may also update fans on the state of The Legend of Zelda on Wii U and offer an explanation for it's delay until 2016, which was announced last week.
Other games we may hear from include Wii U exclusives Devil's Third, Xenoblade Chronicles X and the Star Fox game expected later this year.
An announcement regarding a new wave of Amiibos is also likely.
The event taking place on April Fools Day is sure to draw a lot of groan-inducing jokes, but as Nintendo have said: "Don't let the date fool you. This Nintendo Direct is no joke!"
