Overview
Djokovic has won this competition only once in 2013 and the Serbian will be looking to win it for the second time in his career this year. He has a very good chance of making it to the next round as Cilic has never defeated the Serbian in all meetings so far.
The 27-year-old defeated Andreas Haider-Maurer comfortably in straight sets 6-4, 6-0 to make it to the quarter final of the Monte-Carlo Masters. He had two comfortable games so far and Djokovic will be hoping for another easy clash on Friday.
Meanwhile, Cilic sealed a place in the last eight of the ongoing event after he defeated Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the third round. The Croatian won the match in straight sets 6-3, 7-6 and is now set to face the World Number 1 in the quarter final.
Cilic will be hoping to end his winless streak in order to create an upset when he takes on Djokovic in the third quarter final of the Monte-Carlo Masters.
