Opera singer Katherine Jenkins welcomes her first child: Name of baby girl revealed
Katherine Jenkins has become a mother for the first time. The opera star and her husband Andrew Levitas welcomed a little girl by the name of Aaliyah Reign Levitas on Wednesday 30 September.
Taking to social media to announce the news by posting a collage of a series of snaps of her daughter, the songstress wrote: "Introducing our daughter Aaliyah Reign Levitas, who came loudly into the world weighing almost 7lbs and surrounded by love.
"We are absolutely besotted with her & grateful for the beautiful blessing of this happy, healthy, little miracle. Cwtches all round."
Sharing the same collage Levitas gushed: "We are absolutely besotted with her & grateful for the beautiful blessing of this happy, healthy, little miracle. Mummy is recovering well and Daddy couldn't be prouder of his two gorgeous princesses."
The new parents were soon inundated with congratulatory messages from fans and fellow celebrities, with Myleene Klass leading the way.
The couple, who tied the knot at Hampton Court Palace in September 2014 after a whirlwind seven-month romance, revealed that they were starting a family in April. The 34-year-old Welsh star posted a snap of a pair of pink baby ballet shoes and a photo of her and her husband on their wedding day.
"Couldn't be more excited to meet our little girl! #MummyToBe #DaddyToBe #ArtProject #Collaboration #Family @andrewlevitas," she captioned the post.
"We are overjoyed to be expecting our first child in the autumn. Starting a family and moving into this exciting phase of our lives is a blessing for which we are incredibly grateful. We eagerly await the arrival of our little girl!" the couple added in a statement.
Jenkins previously dated television presenter Gethin Jones after meeting on the set of Strictly Come Dancing in 2007. They split in December 2011 just months after announcing their engagement on holiday in Mexico.
