Oscars 2015: Lady Gaga's red gloves on red carpet trigger hilarious memes

American singer and songwriter Lady Gaga turned heads as she graced the red carpet at the 2015 Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre on 22 February in Hollywood.

The 28-year-old singer, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, wore a white Azzedine Alaia floor-length gown to the event, and later took to Instagram to praise the designer, people who contributed to her outfit, make-up and hair do.

She wrote: "I will never forget tonight. #Oscars thank you Azzedine Alaia for this stunning piece. It took 1600 hrs of embroidery and 25 people in Paris, he's never before made a dress for the Oscars. What an honor.
