Outlander Premiere Episode: Where to Watch Free Live Stream Online

Outlander, the new British-American television drama series based on Diana Gabaldon's international bestselling novels of the same name, premieres tonight on US TV network Starz.

The premium cable network's buzzy new fantasy drama has managed to generate tremendous interest after Starz put the first episode titled Sassenach online and On Demand this week.

The pilot episode has been viewed nearly 1 million times in the run up to its official Saturday night premiere, reports Entertainment Weekly.

Outlander follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened.

When she is forced to marry Jamie, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate affair is ignited that tears Claire's heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.

Outlander premieres on 9 August at 9pm ET (5pm GMT) on Starz.
