Paul Walker Autopsy's Horrifying Details: His Body Was in 'Pugilistic Stance'
The detailed autopsy of Fast and Furious actor, Paul Walker is out and the details are horrific. According to the report obtained by TMZ, the car spun 180 degrees after the impact, struck a tree and nearly tore in half before exploding in flames.
There were no traces of drug or alcohol in both the bodies. The Porshe was apparently doing more than 160 kilometres per hour when it crashed. Walker's body was reportedly laying supine in the passenger seat in a 'pugilistic stance', which is a defensive position, as if he were bracing himself for impact.
That is not all, he had several fractures throughout his body, including his jaw, collarbone, and left upper arm. The driver involved in the crash that killed Walker has been confirmed as Roger Rodas, a former race car driver and financial adviser to Walker. Rodas had been close friends with Walker for several years and the pair had raced together on several occasions
The report from the L.A. County coroner concludes that Walker died from 'combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries' sustained from the crash.
The Coroner is also preserving portions of Walker's organs in a jar. The tissues are kept for a certain period of time in case of lawsuits.
The report also says there was "scant soot in Walker's trachea" -- suggesting he took a few breaths after impact.
Meanwhile, Walker's younger brother, Cody Walker, 25, who looks almost like Paul, is expected to fill in for the late actor in the seventh edition of the movie. Cody has previously worked as a movie stuntman.
The makers of the runaway hit franchise, who held a series of meetings after Paul's death, reportedly realised that they needed someone who looked like Paul to finish the movie and they approached his nearly identical brother, Cody, a source close to the production stated.
"If Cody agrees it's because he wants to honour his brother's memory. There are many details that still need to be worked out, but right now the family and cast and crew are all still grieving," the source added.
"They can shoot Cody from behind and at distance. If it's a shot they need Paul's face in close up, they can CGI it later on," a source close to the family is quoted as saying.
