Pennsylvania Woman Accused of Fatally Stabbing Husband and Son, 3, Before Trying To Take Her Own Life
Metallica Rose Harrison faces two homicide counts after her husband and son, 3, were found dead at Great Wolf Lodge

A Pennsylvania woman allegedly stabbed her husband and their three-year-old son to death at Great Wolf Lodge in Scotrun before attempting suicide, according to a criminal complaint.
Monroe County District Attorney Mike Mancuso announced two criminal homicide charges against Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, on Tuesday, calling the deaths a 'violent domestic tragedy'. The family had been staying at the Pocono Township resort since 21 September, according to the complaint.
Pennsylvania Woman's 911 Call Led Police to Room
Officers attended the resort at around 3:15pm after a call to the Monroe County Control Center from a woman who reported that she was suicidal. The complaint identifies the caller as Harrison, of Towanda in Bradford County.
Harrison allegedly told the 911 operator that 'my husband and son are already gone in the bed'. The complaint states that she did not request assistance for either of them during the call.
Inside the room, police discovered Charles Harrison dead with multiple stab wounds to his chest. Their son, identified in the complaint as T.H., was also dead and appeared to have a single chest wound.
Harrison was transported to St. Luke's Hospital in Stroudsburg for treatment of her injuries. The complaint states that officers did not observe defensive wounds on her body.
During the ambulance journey, Harrison allegedly spoke about her expectations of family life. The complaint quotes her as stating, 'It wasn't supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family. That's what I envisioned since I was a child.'
Surveillance Traces Pennsylvania Woman's Resort Stay
The complaint states that the family's reservation had been extended on 5 October, with checkout scheduled for 13 October.
Surveillance footage described in the document recorded the family entering their room at about 7pm on 11 October. Harrison appeared to leave roughly an hour later to use a microwave. She and her husband later went to the arcade and returned.
The complaint records no further surveillance footage of the family after that return. The surveillance account does not establish when the fatal injuries occurred.
Investigators recovered a large butcher knife from the bathroom floor and a smaller knife from the sink. Both had teal green handles, and resort staff confirmed neither knife was of a type kept by the lodge, the complaint states. Investigators also reported a brownish-red liquid, believed to be blood, in a bathroom bin.
Preliminary Hearing Ahead for Pennsylvania Woman
At the hospital, a detective advised Harrison of her Miranda rights and sought to discuss what had brought her there. Harrison allegedly replied that she was 'suicidal, not stupid' and declined to speak to police, the complaint states.
The Pocono Township Police Department stated, 'This case is an isolated domestic tragedy and there is no threat to the community'.
'We are deeply saddened and heartbroken by a tragic domestic incident that occurred yesterday in a guest room at our resort in the Pocono Mountains,' Great Wolf Lodge stated on Tuesday. The company confirmed it was cooperating fully with local law enforcement and expressed sympathy for the family and loved ones affected.
Harrison was awaiting a preliminary hearing, according to an online court docket cited in the reporting, which listed no attorney for her.
