Priyanka Chopra is busy shooting for her next project, a superhero-based web film. The film, titled "We Can Be Heroes," is being directed by Robert Rodriguez of "Spy Kids" fame. The film will be released on Netflix.
A photograph of Priyanka Chopra, 38, from the set of the film went viral, giving a sneak peek into her new look. In the photo, the actress dons a short bob hair cut and wears a white shirt with collar, The Indian Express reports. She poses with Rodriguez and the kids from the film.
"@priyankachopra with director @Rodriguez on the set of #WeCanBeHeroes," the photograph is captioned. It was posted on the actress's fan club page on Twitter.
"Our desi girl is all set to save the world as @priyankachopra joins the cast of We Can Be Heroes," Netflix gave a warm welcome to Chopra with the announcement.
"We Can Be Heroes" is about a group of alien invaders who abduct Earth's superheroes. The children are left to fend for themselves and to save their parents and the world. Chopra is reportedly playing the role of "Ms. Gradenko" in the film.
The film will also star Christian Slater, YaYa Gosselin, Akira Akbar, Andrew Diaz, Andy Walken, Boyd Holbrook, Hala Finley, Isaiah Russell-Bailey and Lotus Blossom. Furthermore, Lyon Daniels, Nathan Blair, Sung Kang, Vivien Lyra Blair, Adriana Barraza, Christopher McDonald and Pedro Pascal also figure in the line-up.
Previously, Chopra was seen in the romantic comedy "Isn't It Romantic," which was also released on Netflix after a theatrical release in the US. The actress has a very busy schedule with several films in the offing. She will also star in a Hollywood flick based on the theme of big fat Indian weddings along with Mindy Kaling.
The "Quantico" star is all set to make her Bollywood comeback with "The Sky Is Pink," which will be released on October 11. The film also stars Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim and will be screened at the Toronto International Film Festival.
In another development, the actress gave the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards a miss this year because of her busy schedule. The Jonas Brothers performed at the award ceremony in Newark, New Jersey, on Monday night. Her husband's boy band won the "Best Pop Video" award for their hit song "Sucker."
Chopra couldn't let go of the opportunity to congratulate her husband Nick Jonas. She took to Instagram and shared an epic PDA photo with Nick. The actress actually photoshopped an image of herself embracing a bewildered-looking Nick. His brothers Joe and Kevin kissed their respective wives, Sophie Turner and Danielle Jonas, Vogue reports.
"I'm always with you @nickjonas Congratulations @jonasbrothers! I'm so proud of all of you! #sucker," she captioned the photograph.
