Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Plot to explore father-son relationship amid the curse of the sea?
Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is yet to start its pre-production which is slated to begin next month in Australia, but reports of the plot of the pirate adventure are already doing the rounds.
According to Screen Rant, the plot of the fan favourite franchise revolves around a young man who ventures into the sea in order to reconnect with his lost father, Davy Jones.
"It's about a young man who wants to reconnect with his father, Davy Jones. There's a curse that prevents him from doing that. I think it's about how he goes around that and tries to fix it and he has to save his dad. I'm looking forward to it. It'll be a lot of fun!"
The website also suspects that Will Turner might take the title of Davy Jones after becoming the captain of the ship 'The Flying Dutchman.'
Disney's blockbuster franchise is reportedly in talks with Kaya Scodelario for the female lead in the fifth instalment which is titled, Dead Men Tell No Tales.
The English actress is popular for her flawless portrayal of Cathy in the television series Skins.
Johnny Depp will return in the movie as the witty pirate lord Jack Sparrow and Orlando Bloom will reprise the character of Will Turner.
There are reports that Geoffrey Rush may return to the popular franchise as Hector Barbossa while Oscar winner Javier Bardem will play the dreaded antagonist in Pirates 5.
The studio is expected to increase the drama and action quotient as they want to ride on the series' popularity, which saw the last movie gross $1 billion-plus worldwide.
The fifth instalment of Pirates is to be directed by the Kon-Tiki duo Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg while the script is written by Jeff Nathanson.
The movie will premiere in US theatres on 7 July, 2017.
