Harry made a detour to Canada following his 15-day tour of the Caribbean.
Prince Harry could have breached Buckingham Palace protocol as he reportedly made a detour to Canada to visit girlfriend Meghan Markle, following his official tour of the Caribbean.
According to the Daily Mail, Harry was expected to fly back to London on Sunday (4 December), but changed plans and boarded a flight to Toronto to visit his lady love. The report also claimed that the 32-year-old was required to be back in Britain by the morning of 7 December to attend a charity event in London.
Kensington Palace refused to commenton whether the prince boarded a flight to Canada, but officials previously briefed the media and said that the prince would return immediately to Britain on a commercial flight funded by taxpayers following his 15-day tour.
An official was previously quoted as saying that in any situation costs incurred to taxpayers as a result of altered plans or change in flights would be met "privately". The Buckingham Palace has earlier stated that members of the royal family should be "actively discouraged" from combining official and personal trips.
The Sun had reported that Harry arrived in Canada on Sunday night and was with Markle at her Toronto home. A source told the website, "Harry just couldn't wait to see her. He was due to fly back to London on a British Airways flight with the rest of his entourage. But he changed his mind and diverted straight to see her as they couldn't bear to be apart.
"It's just another sign of how head-over-heels he is about her. He is absolutely besotted. We've never seen him so happy – it's great."
While the Prince was on his Royal tour, the 35-year-old Suits actor was spotted enjoying a girls night out with Quantico star Priyanka Chopra. "Girls just wanna have fun.. @meghanmarkle @mubinarattonsey #LAlife," the Baywatch star had shared on social media.
