Real Madrid will look to continue their 100% start to the season when they host Sporting Lisbon at the Santiago Bernabeu in Group F of the Champions League on 14 September

Where to watch live

Kick-off is set for 7.45pm BST. The game will be broadcast live on BT Sport Extra.

Overview

Cristiano Ronaldo played and scored in his first match of the season as Real Madrid beat Osasuna 5-2 at home on 10 September. The 31-year-old forward spent six years at Sporting Lisbon before leaving for Manchester United in 2003.

Goalkeeper Keylor Navas (foot) and Fabio Coentrao (foot) are both sidelined through injury for the hosts, but Isco (ankle) should return.

Sporting Lisbon are top of the Portuguese Primeira Liga after winning all four of their opening league fixtures. The 18-time Portuguese champions have never beaten a Spanish club on Spanish soil.

Left-back Jefferson is likely to miss the trip to Madrid due to a leg injury.

What managers say

Zinedine Zidane: "[Ronaldo]'s happy and we all enjoyed having him back. I always want him with us. He will play an hour or so against Sporting CP and we will see what happens. There are many games and we must be careful."

Jorge Jesus: "We were strong collectively [against Moreirense]. We could have scored more goals, but many players were coming from back from their national teams and we should give them the benefit of the doubt. Bas Dost is a bit like [Islam] Slimani."
