Rihanna fans have been annoyed by the singer posting an image of herself smoking a cigarette on her Twitter page.

The 24-year-old Bajan beauty sparked more controversy after she uploaded the snap with the caption: "U mad? #No1 Currrr"

Her Twitter remark and her "don't care" attitude have upset the online community and brought her nothing but negative publicity.

The image surfaced just days after the Umbrella hitmaker surprised fans by releasing two new tracks with former lover Chris Brown, who assaulted her in 2009.

Shocked followers quickly flocked to online sites to share their disgust over the smoking image.

One user wrote: "Such an ugly habit makes a pretty girl look disgusting."
