SAG Awards 2012: Jean Dujardin Wins Best Actor for 'The Artist' [PHOTOS, LIST OF WINNERS]
The Best Actor award, at the 18<sup>th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) went to Jean Dujardin, the star of "The Artist". Meanwhile, Viola Davis and the cast members "The Help" were recognized as the Best Actress and Best Cast in a Motion Picture (the SAG's equivalent of the Oscars' Best Film award).
The awards ceremony was held at the Shrine Exposition Hall in Los Angeles, California, on Jan. 29.
In addition, to the two awards mentioned above, "The Help" also won Octavia Spencer the Best Supporting Actress prize. This year's Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Mary Tyler Moore.
The gala event was attended by several high-profile celebrities and stars, including Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Meryl Streep.
The SAGs were started in 1995, with the intention of honouring actors and actress from the film and television industries.
