A case of assault has been registered against Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, by Iqbal Sharma. Sharma claims Saif Ali Khan punched him and assaulted him at the Taj Hotel.

The victim claims he was having dinner with his family when this incident occured. Saif Ali Khan and his friends were creating a disturbance and, according to Sharma, when he requested they not make so much noise, the actor allegedly got angry and punched him.

Saif apparently told Sharma to go to a library if he wanted peace and calm. Saif Ali Khan's beau, actress Kareena Kapoor, was also present at the occasion.

The actor and his friends have been booked under IPC 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).

"The section under which he has been booked is bailable. He has to come with a surety and if we find that the surety is a sound surety, we will grant him bail," ACP Iqbal Shaikh was quoted as saying by IBN.

Malaika Arora Khan, Amrita Arora, Kareena Kapoor and a few others were also reportedly present along with Saif Ali Khan. Saif could face up to 7 years of imprisonment for this offence.
