Saira Khan receives death threat after she blasts Muslim preacher with 'kiss my bum' photo

Saira Khan has opened up about a scary incident she experienced after slamming a female Islamist preacher who decreed it was sinful for Muslim women to pluck their eyebrows.

The Loose Women star has said that she received death threat after standing up to Jamaal ud-Din and told her to "kiss my [bum]" with a bikini snap of hers on social media.

"I woke up to news that A Muslim Preacher is saying that 'plucking eyebrows' for Muslim women is a sin - here's my response - kiss my you backward prehistoric dinosaur!" the television presenter wrote alongside the photo which shows her flaunting her bare back while soaking up the sun on a beach bed.

However, her bikini offering caused outrage, with one Instagram user threatening to kill her if she once again says anything about Islam.

"You're not a Muslim nor do you represent anything to do with Islam," the person said.

"Your white masters have given you what you desire as a sell out reporter. If you value your life keep the f*** out of Islam."

The 47-year-old later called out the troll on Twitter and asked the Metropolitan Police to "check out" the death threat.

"Just received a death threat from a @silverbengle on Instagram – check it out @metpoliceuk," she wrote.

Despite the threat, Saira was praised by many for openly talking about what is wrong in the world today.

"Best response ever! I wish more Muslim woman would response to misogyny openly!," a user said.

Another added, "I love how you are unapologetic about who you are. So many Muslim women are oppressed and don't even realise it. The more women in the spotlight highlight how archaic and ridiculous these statements are the better! I praise you, thank you for educating the world that you can be both Muslim AND Free."
