Sam Faiers talks post-baby weight loss, ultimate skin essentials and marrying Paul Knightley
The Mummy Diaries is back on ITVBe for a third series.
Sam Faiers: The Mummy Diaries continues on ITVBe tonight, and documents an exciting time in the reality star's life as she plans a move to Los Angeles with her partner Paul Knightley and baby Paul.
During a chat with IBTimes UK recently, 26-year-old Faiers, who has lived in Essex her whole life and is very close to her family, recalled how her loved ones reacted to the life change.
She said: "Initially they were very shocked and were like: 'We're going to miss baby Paul so much!' and 'We don't want him to not know who we are', but I think it's calmed down now.
"They know we are not going out there for two years solid and say we will never see them again – it's not going to be like that. We are testing the waters and are potentially going to spend more time out there," she added.
Faiers, who admitted in the first part of our interview that the move was prompted by her signing at talent agency StyleHaul, said that she has completely changed as a person since having her baby.
The former Towie star claims she has completely lost interest in going out, stating: "I am truly so different now to before I had the baby; your priorities change, your work changes, life changes!
"I used to be worried about what outfit I'd be wearing to a certain event, now it's about what dinner I'm making for the baby.
"For me, I'm a working mum and it's all about me working now for my family and I want my kids to have the best education and nicest holidays – and that means I have also got to work. So it's kind of like having that balance," she added.
Despite embracing motherhood and her new family life, there are no wedding bells between Faiers and Knightley as of yet. On a potential walk down the aisle, she said: "No, not yet – everyone is asking this. We will get married at some point in the future, and definitely before we have our second baby."
Moving onto one of her passions, health and fitness, Faiers claimed that the baby weight dropped off her.
She said: "I kind of lost my baby weight almost instantly, and that wasn't by any fault, when you are young I guess you're supple.
"Breastfeeding apparently helps and I eat really healthy. I home cook most of the time – we do have our treats and takeaways and stuff – we eat organic, I love fruit and we juice a lot, so it's a real mixture."
On her gym routine, Faiers admitted that it is currently non-existent, though maintains a passion for exercising. She said: "I love exercising – absolutely love it – but with the move, the trip, filming and everything that has been going on, I haven't really been doing anything these past six months.
"I joined my new gym just last week in Hertfordshire, so I'm really looking forward to getting back into it!"
On what she likes to focus on when she does spontaneously visit the gym, she added: "I love doing weights. I don't necessarily want to lose weight, I want to tone. Mat work and weights are my favourite along with kettle bells and dumbbells and stuff."
Discussing her skin essentials, Faiers likes to keep it simple. She said: "I like gentle exfoliators and I swear by rosehip oil. I've used it for the last couple of years and it has helped with scarring I had on my face. I sleep in it, and when I'm on holiday I rub it in my hair and anywhere on the skin.
"I always use a primer before putting foundation on, it kind of protects the skin in a way. Your foundation also sits nicer when you have a primer on."
Faiers even confessed who her ultimate girl crush is, stating: "Olivia Culpo is my ultimate celebrity girl crush – I just love her style. I love her Instagram posts along with her hair and make-up. She is so chic and glam but not overdone. I love her look."
