Samsung to release Android Lollipop update for Galaxy Note 2 users in Finland, Galaxy A series smartphones: Report
The Samsung Galaxy A series smartphones comprising the A3, A5 and A7 would receive the Google Android 5.0 (Lollipop) OS update, in due course of time.
Currently, the Samsung Galaxy A3, A5 and the comparatively advanced Galaxy A7 run the outdated Android 4.4 KitKat operating platform out of the box.
But as per a SamMobile report that quotes trusted sources, engineers at Samsung are currently working on the Android Lollipop OS update for users of the Galaxy A series smartphones.
Hence, owners of Samsung's metal-clad Galaxy A series can check their handsets for OTA notifications of the Android Lollipop firmware upgrade. Users can check for the Android Lollipop update manually as well. To do so, navigate to Settings > About Phone > Software Updates > Check for updates.
The SamMobile report also mentions that Samsung, as of now, does not have any plans to launch the Android 5.1 (Lollipop) for its devices.
However, users of the older Galaxy Note 2 residing in Finland are in for a treat as the Android Lollipop is confirmed to roll-out for the large-screen smartphone. But the date of the launch has not been revealed by the company as yet.
