Sebastian Stan on Captain America and Bucky's romance: I don't think of the character that way
Civil War actor talks about Bucky Barnes's future in Marvel movies.
After #GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend started trending on Twitter, fans obviously wanted Captain America to be romantically paired up with Bucky Barnes. Sebastian Stan who plays Bucky in Marvel Cinematic Universe addressed the fan demand in an interview with GQ magazine.
Calling this fan demand "cute" the Civil War actor shared, "Look, man, I think it's great. Movies are for people to relate to in whatever way they want. No one here is ever going to point a finger and say what's right and wrong. For me, it's like Awww. It's cute, it's great."
Adding that he doesn't think of his character that way, Stan said, "If someone takes the time to think about that, that's great. I don't think of the character that way, though. But there's no right or wrong answer."
Here are a few fan tweets about #GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend:
Bucky volunteered to be kept in deep freeze at an advanced laboratory in Wakanda, after the tragic events of Captain America Civil War. "There will be, I just don't know when," he said of returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The actor went on to explain, "It's kind of like this weird mystery. It's fun and nerve-wracking. The best way to describe it is that you just get a phone call one day that's like "You're going to report to set" and off you go. We all get along really well so it's really fun."
The actor then discussed his friendship with Anthony Mackie, who plays Falcon in Marvel movies. "My relationship with Anthony Mackie is one of the perks of my life, knowing that man. It's fun. It's very collaborative. Everyone knows what the goal is, we all want to make something that's great and different and that surprises fans. We all just assume our roles in the puzzle. There's no drama," he shared.
Previously, the actor hinted at the possibility of showing up in Black Panther solo movie, which is scheduled for release on 16 February 2018.
