Selena Gomez has struck a major deal with Instagram to help the social media giant boost their level of engagement. The news comes following the singer's online popularity as one of her posts became the most-liked photo of all time on the picture-sharing site. It surpassed a record previously set by her former boyfriend Justin Bieber.

With 89 million plus followers, the 23-year-old singer will reportedly help Instagram compete against rivals such as Snapchat. However, the pop singer's newfound social media status was not a work of any digital consultant. "It comes in a moment when I capture something happening, and I go, 'Oh, that would be great for Instagram. I should post it'," the singer said and added, "I know it's boring, but that's genuinely what I do."
