Selena Gomez talks love life after Justin Bieber: 'I don't trust anyone'

Pop superstar Selena Gomez has admitted that her turbulent romance with Justin Bieber left her with trust issues. Interviewed in the June issue of Marie Claire, the former Disney personality revealed that she is now extremely cautious with her heart and struggled with getting back into the world of dating.

She told the publication: "I've been dating. I've been having the best time. But I don't trust anybody, so dating can only be fun if I know I'm going to have fun."

The 23-year-old brunette went on to add that despite the constant speculation surrounding her personal life, she refuses to be defined by who she dates.

Recalling previous interviews she said: "I would try to promote something that I loved, and the entire interview would be about my personal life. I would leave a room feeling defeated, feeling embarrassed, but I would always make sure to put that smile on my face because I wasn't going to let them get to me."

The Feel Me hitmaker's candid interview comes days after she premiered Feel Me, a new song that talks about heartbreak and features the lyrics: "No one loves you like I love you / I never cheated, never lied / I never put no one above you / I gave you space and time / And now you're telling me you miss me / And I'm still on your mind / We were one in a million / Our love is hard to find." The lines only fuel rumours that Gomez and her ex are still figuring out their relationship.

In November 2015, Bieber was captured on camera serenading Gomez on the piano at Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills. The pair were on a night out when he belted out his rendition of The Temptations' My Girl, as well as his hit Sorry.

During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show he admitted that a reunion was not off the cards. "I think we are both just on our own journeys and figuring ourselves out and I think maybe once we figure ourselves out, we can come back and make an awesome duo or she finds someone awesome and I'll find someone awesome. I just want her to be happy," he said.

Since their split Gomes has been romantically-linked with DJ Zedd, Samuel Krost and Charlie Puth, while Bieber is said to be dating long-time friend Hailey Baldwin.
