Simon Cowell Already on a Shopping Spree for His Baby?

TV mogul Simon Cowell has reportedly opened an account with the high end baby boutique in Los Angeles, Petit Tresor. He follows the footsteps of Hollywood's power couples like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith as they have been customers at this megabucks boutique.

Apparently one of Cowell's assistants called the store to request brochures which offers £965 cradle and crib, a £9,580 wardrobe, a £4,569 dresser and a £1,385 bed. They also left the number of his black American express credit card there.

"Many of the parents we cater for spend more than £30,000 or more decorating their babies' nurseries and playrooms," a source from Petit Tresor stated.

The 53-year-old Cowell has also reportedly cut down on smoking as it might affect his child. Cowell, who is expecting a baby with New York socialite Lauren, 36, apparently, prefers jets to normal planes so that he can smoke. He had also joked recently that he preferred smoking to sex.

"Sometimes while I'm having sex, I'm actually thinking I want to hurry up and finish - so I can have a cigarette!" Cowell stated.

A chain smoker, Cowell used to smoke up to 40 cigarettes in a day and has previously tried hypnotherapy and electronic fags to try to kick the habit. Now he has been warned that he would be putting his child at risk if he smokes in front of Lauren.

"Simon's cutting down. The baby's health is the most important thing," a friend of Lauren stated. Cowell was heavily criticised after the couple were pictured strolling along the harbour in St Tropez in the South of France with Lauren carrying a packet of Kool cigarettes. Meanwhile, Cowell even has baby names decided and it would be a tribute to his dad as he meant the world to him.

"If it's a boy, Simon wants to call him Eric and if it's a girl Erica. His dad meant the world to him and Simon feels the name would be a fitting tribute," a source told Daily Star. Lauren also had apparently agreed to his suggestions.

"Lauren has not decided yet, but is taking Simon's input very seriously. She likes the name Eric as it is unusual in America and quite stylish. She also feels Erica is a cool name for a girl," the source added.
