Music mogul Simon Cowell already has high hopes from his unborn son as he wants him to work his way to success.

"I never inherited anything in my life, and everything I have I had to earn. But I think that's what made me enjoy my life more. I want my son to feel like he's got to prove his own way and I'd like to do what my dad did for me,'' he says.

Cowell said his late father Eric was the one who taught him to appreciate every person not considering their background.

''He once said to me, 'You've got to realise that everyone around you has a sign on their forehead that says Make Me Feel Important'. I've always remembered that," Cowell said.

''You've got to understand that the guy who holds the door open is as important as the producer or the director, because it's a job. I think that was the best piece of advice I was ever given," he added.

Meanwhile, Cowell has confessed that he might name his son Simon.

"My number one choice is Simon because I like the name. His birthday is going to be very close to my dad's birthday," the 53-year-old stated.

He added that his late father would be "very proud" and "amazed" to have a grandson. He also opened up about how he would be bringing up the child.

"Be cool about it. You know, don't worry about things too much. The way me and my brother were brought up, I mean, it was kind of relaxed. There were no self-help books or any of that crazy stuff," he said.

Cowell added that he would want his son to take over his empire. "I want to teach him how to do my job as quickly as possible. I want to pass the reins over. I really would like the idea of teaching him how to run the business," he said.
