Colombian actress Sofía Vergara has called it quits with her fiance Nick Loeb.

The 41-year-old Modern Family actress announced that the two have decided to end their engagement and go their separate ways on her Who Say account.

"Not that anyone should care, but in order to not give the press the chance to invent crazy and hurtful drama, I prefer to tell my fans personally that Nick and I have decided to be apart," she wrote.

"We have been having too many problems with figuring out how to spend time together and because of my work and now his, its been getting worse and worse. Not fun anymore. We are still very close but we believe it's the best thing for us right now," she added.

Vergara and Loeb met at a Golden Globes party in 2010 and got engaged in July 2012.

The Machete Kills actress told E! News last October that she was excited about the wedding.

"We've only been engaged one year, and I have to plan a very big wedding. So it's going to be when I have time to not only to plan the wedding but then take time off after the wedding because it's going to be big," she said.

Vergara has a 21-year-old son, Manolo, from her marriage to Joe Gonzalez. Loeb was married to Swedish model Anna Pettersson, but they later divorced.
