Sony Xperia Z gets updated to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop via Dirty Unicorns v9.3 ROM
Xperia Z users no longer have to wait for the official Android 5.0 Lollipop update from Sony, as discerning Android custom ROM developers have already unleashed the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update via Dirty Unicorns v9.3 ROM.
With due credit to Team D.I.R.T (for creating the ROM) and team XDA (for optimising and distributing/uploading the ROM), it is now possible to relive the legacy of Android Open Source Project (AOSP) for Lollipop ROMs that also brings a lot of patches from CAF to make older devices function as intended.
The XDA Developers team comprising XDA recognised developer mazda, and XDA senior members, mazwaz and chasmodo, have offered the most stable Android 5.1.1 ROM to date with a bunch of powerful features that were missing in the CyanogenMod 12.1 build.
Some of the noteworthy features ported into this ROM include a powerful Theme engine, lockscreen tiles, Headsup options, AppOps, custom boot animation, quick pull-down preference, AdBlocker, Statusbar clock and date customizations, OmniSwitch, and a number of other customisation options.
Given the positive feedback from users on the XDA forum, the Dirty Unicorns ROM will be one of its kind and definitely worth installing on your Xperia Z.
