Overview
South Africa come into this fixture after suffering a 29-run defeat (D/L method) at the hands of Pakistan in the fifth Group B clash. The Proteas won the toss and AB de Villiers elected to field first.
The first innings was interrupted by rain twice, resulting in the match being reduced by three overs. Pakistan were bowled out for 222 runs and the target for the African side was extended to 232 runs (D/L method).
South Africa were bowled out for 202 runs after their batting order collapsed. De Villiers was the only player to shine with the bat, scoring 77 runs.
Meanwhile, UAE are without a win in this tournament and their chances of sealing a victory over South Africa look very slim. They have already suffered four defeats in the first four matches played in the tournament.
A win for South Africa will assure them a second place finish, unless Pakistan manage a massive victory over Ireland in the final game.
