The Spice Girls are Back! Trendy Wardrobes of the Singers to be Auctioned!
The Spice Girls Return
Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Halliwell are back! Yes, the Spice Girls are back!
The members of the all-girls band, Spice Girls, reunited at a hotel in London's St Pancras railway station to promote their new West End musical Viva Forever, a collection of the group's hit songs that will open at London's Piccadilly Theatre on 11 December. It has been scripted by Jennifer Saunders and produced by Judy Craymer.
It is also reported that the "Wannabe" singers will auction several of their iconic dresses worn during different concerts to raise fund for charity. The outfits will be up for sale in December, coinciding the launch of Viva Forever.
Victoria Beckham, the singer turned fashion designer, was all excited about the auction.
"I've got all my costumes still. I can't wait for Harper to grow a little so she can have some. But the rest I'd like to put up for charity, I think it would be a fantastic thing to do. Everything we did at the time was great, it really was great. We watched a little video Geri put together and I think we were nearly all brought to tears," Beckham told the media.
The highlights of the auction are Mel C's sporty Adidas tracksuits and crop tops, Emma's baby doll dresses, Geri's raunchy basque-style mini-dresses and the girls' wedge trainers that they called the Buffalo shoes. The money collected will go for the project called Save The Children and Children In Need. Interestingly, the project was first started by Victoria Beckham in 2009.
Even though Beckham had to rush back home to put daughter Harper to bed, the rest of the gang hung out and had fun in London.
"'I'd love to stay and hang out with the girls but I'm desperate to see her before she goes to bed. I have to race home for bedtime," Beckham told the Daily Mail.
In spite of the happiness that the get together brought in, there were few sparks of tension amongst the beautiful ladies, claimed Judy James, body language expert. James felt that Mel B and Beckham in particular looked detached from the rest. It may be recalled that the Spice Girls split in 1998, with lead singer Geri Halliwell leaving the band.
The Spice Girls have nine No1 singles and two No1 albums in the UK, including one No.1 single and album in the US.
