Sport Spotlight: Chelsea aim for Premier League glory after Capital One Cup triumph
In this week's Sport Spotlight, IBTimes UK sport editor Nick Howson looks at Chelsea's 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Capital One Cup final, Ireland's 19-9 win over England in the Six Nations and England's woeful defeat to Sri Lanka in the Cricket World Cup.
Chelsea triumph in Capital One Cup over Spurs
Jose Mourinho won his first trophy since returning as Chelsea manager as his side comfortably beat Spurs 2-0 in the Capital One Cup final. With Manchester City slipping up in the title race with a 2-1 loss to Liverpool on the same day, are the Blues now set to win their first Premier League title since 2009-10?
England's grand slam dreams crushed by Ireland in Dublin
England's hopes of a first grand slam since 2003 were dashed when they were beaten by Ireland 19-9 in Dublin. The result is a major setback for Stuart Lancaster's side and could see Ireland emerge as the northern hemisphere favourites at the World Cup later in 2015.
England's woeful Cricket World Cup continues
Speaking of World Cups, England continue to toil in Australia and New Zealand after they suffered a humiliating loss by nine wickets to Sri Lanka in Wellington. The defeat means England have lost all three of their matches against Test-playing nations so far and means they might have to win their next two games against Afghanistan and Bangladesh to progress from the group stage.
