Overview

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have had a disappointing Caribbean Premier League 2016 so far, winning just one game out of the eight played. The wooden spoon holders - the Patriots side - have a meager two points so far and will end the 2016 season in bottom place even if they win their final two games.

St Kitts who last played on 21 July, have had time to recharge their batteries and will be looking to play for pride if not anything else. The whole team have failed to fire, with not even one batsman reaching the 200 run-mark, while their bowlers have leaked runs without taking wickets.

The big guns skipper Faf du Plessis, Lendl Simmons, Samuel Badree and Brad Hodge have had a tournament to forget, knowing that they have led their side down, considering the responsibility of the side rested on their shoulders.

With nothing to look forward too, the St Kitts side might give their youngsters a chance to impress with the team management looking to build for the future.

Their opponents, Trinbago Knight Riders come into this clash knowing that it's a must win game. Currently placed third on the points table with eight from eight games, the Knight Riders will know that a win will guarantee them a place in the play-offs.

The defending champions have in their ranks players like Hashim Amla, Brendon McCullum, Colin Munro, Sunil Narine, Umar Akmal and skipper Dwayne Bravo, who are capable of winning matches on their own.

The good news for the Trinbago outfit is that their key players are all coming into form at exactly the right moment and with the talent at their disposal, a second consecutive CPL title is not out of the question.
