Super Tuesday: Hillary Clinton celebrates victories with call for 'love and kindness'
Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton celebrated Super Tuesday victories with a call for "love and kindness," as she addressed supporters in Miami, Florida.
"It might be unusual, as I have said before for a presidential candidate to say this, but I am going to keep saying it, I believe what we need in America today is more love and kindness," she said. "It is clear tonight that the stakes in this election have never been higher and the rhetoric that we are hearing on the other side has never been lower," she said. "Trying to divide America between us and them is wrong and we are not going to let it work," she said.
Clinton rolled up a series of primary wins on Tuesday, claiming Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Virginia and Texas. Clinton, the former secretary of state, hoped to win enough states to take a big step toward wrapping up her nomination fight with rival Bernie Sanders, who won his home state of Vermont.
Super Tuesday is the biggest single day of state-by-state contests to select party nominees for the 8 November election to succeed Democratic President Barack Obama.
