Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris: Scottish DJ's absence from Grammys 2016 revealed
Calvin Harris was noticeably not beside Taylor Swift at the 2016 Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center on 15 February in Los Angeles. At the event, the 26-year-old singer's 1989 won the coveted album of the year award, making her the first woman to win the award twice. She also won the best pop vocal album and best music video for her track Bad Blood.
As everyone were expecting Rita Ora's former boyfriend and Swift to walk the red carpet, the Blank Space hitmaker brought her best friend, Selena Gomez along as her date. A source told E! News: "He [Harris] is working and in the studio. Things are great between both of them. Taylor had plans on going with Selena for some time."
Harris and Swift have been in a relationship since April 2015. The Shake It Off singer kissed Harris during the Billboard Music Awards 2015, held at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas last year, confirming their relationship.
Meanwhile at the event, Harry Styles' former girlfriend silenced her haters in her acceptance speech. She said: "And as the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to the young woman out there, there are going to be people along the way who try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame.
But if you just focus on the work and you don't let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you're going, you will look around and you will know it was you and the people who love you who put you there, and that will be the greatest feeling in the world."
