Teen Mom 2 season 6: Custody battle for Jace heats up as Jenelle Evans and Nathan Griffith split
Jenelle Evans has suffered another setback in her ongoing fight to regain custody of Jace after a US court directed her to hand over her first son to Barbara Evans. The news comes after Jenelle called off her engagement with Nathan Griffith.
The Teen Mom 2 star was forced to give up custody of her first-born to her mother Barbara, after he was born. However, according to reports, the mother-of-two has been working hard lately to regain full parental rights of Jace.
"Jenelle's hearing was continued until November," a source told Radar Online. "These cases take time. It isn't an easy thing to get custody back and Jenelle has an uphill battle," the source continued.
Jenelle recently ended her engagement with her fiancé, who is the father of her second son Kaiser, which affect her custody case.
"It was good when Jenelle was with Nathan because it showed a stable household, but that has changed now that they're broken up.
"She has a long way to go to get custody back but she's trying really hard," the source told the website.
Jenelle called off her engagement with Griffith, after he allegedly argued with her about "not getting time to go out of home, and for her inability to find them a babysitter".
Jenelle later spoke to ET Online about her break up with Griffith. She said, "I'm enjoying being a mom. I just celebrated my first son's 6th birthday this weekend and it went fantastic. I am not looking to date anyone at the moment. I am focusing on myself."
