Tottenham Hotspur host Watford in the Premier League on Saturday, 8 April as Spurs look to close the gap on Chelsea by taking full points in an early kick-off.

Where to Watch Live

Kick-off is set for 12:30pm BST. Live coverage of the game will be on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 1 HD. Highlights of the game will be available on BBC MOTD from 10:30pm BST.

Overview

Tottenham are set for a massive boost in the form of striker Harry Kane, who could start against Watford after having recovered from an ankle injury, which had kept him out of the last three games. Hugo Lloris is a major doubt for the game due to illness while his deputy Michel Vorm is also recovering from a knee injury, which means that Pau Lopez is currently on standby for his debut.

Spurs are on a brilliant run at the moment and have won 12 of their last 15 league matches, while scoring 34 goals. They can also match their club record of six straight victories in the league with a win, as they look to close the seven-point gap on leaders Chelsea. Much of their form is down to their brilliant defensive record, shipping only 22 goals, the best in the league and keeping 13 clean sheets, joint high with the Blues.

Watford, on the other hand, have a host of problems. Miguel Britos will start his two-match ban, while his fellow defenders Younes Kaboul and Sebastian Prodl are both injured. Etienne Capoue, Heurelho Gomes and Valon Behrami are all major fitness doubts. In addition to the injuries, manager Walter Mazzarri is concerned that striker Troy Deeney and midfielders Tom Cleverley and Abdoulaye Doucoure have all played a major part in the season and are tired.

What Managers Say

Mauricio Pochettino on Harry Kane: "Today he was involved with the team and we'll see tomorrow if I decide that he starts the game or if he will be on the bench but the good news is he is ready and he feels good, fully recovered and I think it is very good news, first of all for him, and then for us. He is a very important player for us and to be available again to help the team is fantastic news for us.Maybe[he will play this weekend], I need to decide tomorrow if he starts the game or he will be on the bench, but he is good to be involved tomorrow in the squad."(via Sky Sports)

Walter Mazzarri: "I told my players that we need to do the same as we did with Arsenal and Manchester United and Everton. If we try very hard and give your maximum, you can reach a good result. It is important to try very hard. It is not mission impossible. We can see if we can do it. You must think positive and you never know in football what can happen. Let's consider the fact we were in an emergency. It was the only match that wasn't really a match and we didn't play well. Not like Leicester, Arsenal, Everton. We must play as a team and be close as a team. Don't give them a chance to express themselves that much, but it is not just Dele Alli, they have 11 good players."(via Hertfordshire Mercury)
