Transformers The Last Knight filming update: Director Michael Bay shares first photo from Cuba set
The filming of Transformers: The Last Knight kicked off in Cuba just a week after director Michael Bay revealed the shooting destination. The movie will be the second major Hollywood film after Universal Pictures's Fast and Furious 8 to utilise the country's different locations
A week ago, Bay shared a photo that featured Optimus Prime and was accompanied with these words on his Instagram account: "michaelbayMy Next Film - starting production this week in Cuba." "#autobots #transformers."
Now, the director has shared the first photo from the movie set in Cuba. The photo shared on Instagram shows a green car parked on the street of some undisclosed location in the country.
Bay wrote on Instagram: "michaelbayCUBA! Second American Movie shot in Cuba. Transformers. Amazing place!#transformers."
As of now, it is not known as to which cast members and what scenes will be filmed in the country. Also, Paramount Pictures has been tight-lipped about the movie's plot details. Moreover, the studio has refrained from releasing the movie's official synopsis.
The movie will see Mark Wahlberg reprise the role of hotshot inventor Cade Yeager, while new cast member Isabela Moner will play Izabella. Josh Duhamel is Lt. William Lennox, while Peter Cullen will voice Optimus Prime. Cinematographer John Sela is also involved in the movie.
The movie opens in theatres in the US on 23 June 2017.
