Central Line Tube Delays 'Not Caused by Person on Track'
A mystery object caused morning rush hour meltdown on London's Central Line this morning.
The object hit a power rail near Holland Park station, knocking out the power supply and all services between Marble Arch and White City.
It was not a person or part of a train, said a Transport for London spokesman. Engineers were at the scene fixing the problem, he added. But services are not expected to return to normal until late morning (Wednesday).
Thousands of commuters had their journey into work seriously disrupted by the incident, with long waits on platforms as trains backed up in stations such as Leytonstone, east London.
