Undertaker's return to SmackDown before Survivor Series could lead to The Deadman's big fight
The 51-year-old wrestler returns to the blue brand on 15 November.
The Undertaker is set to make his WWE return on the final episode of SmackDown before Survivor Series, which is scheduled for 20 November. The Deadman's return to the blue brand on 15 November coincides with the 900th episode of the show.
The return of the wrestler, who was recently pictured in crutches after undergoing a hip surgery, was announced via social media on 3 November.
"BREAKING NEWS! The Undertaker returns to Wilkes-Barre on 11.15 for the 900th episode of @WWESmackDownLiv at @MoheganSunArena #WWEWILKESBARRE," the Twitter handle of the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, which will host SmackDown's 900th episode, informed.
The development comes at a time when several reports have suggested that the 51-year-old superstar's could fight John Cena or Sting at WrestleMania 33. The wrestler's return could possibly be a built up for his big fight at the mega event in 2017 or at Survivor Series. In 1990, the wrestler made his in-ring debut during at Survivor Series PPV.
During a recent interview, the Big Show had said that The Undertaker would return to the ring but did not specify when.
"No, I don't think Taker's [The Undertaker] story is done. Taker's one of those amazing, iconic characters that has built WWE and stood by WWE through thick and thin times. He's one of the guys that never jumped ship back in the day," Show told DigitalSpy.
The Undertaker's last fight was against Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 32 in a Hell in a Cell match, which the former won.
