Usher's Stepson Unresponsive After Jet Ski Accident
Kyle Glover, the 11 year old stepson of R&B singer Usher, is in critical condition after being in a jet ski accident. A report in TMZ said Glover, the son of the singer's estranged wife Tameka Foster, has been admitted to the Egelston Hospital in Atalanta, where the accident occurred.
Sources told the Web site the boy was sitting in a boat on an inner tube on Lake Lanie, a reservoir in northern Georgia, when he was hit on the head. He was found to be unresponsive when he was taken out of the water.
Meanwhile, Sergeant Mike Burgamy of the Deaprtment of Natural Resources told Atlanta NBC television station 11 Alive there was an unidentified 15 year old girl in the boat when it was hit by a jet ski being driven by a 38 year old man. Burgamy added it was too early to tell if charges would be filed and ruled out alcohol as a factor in the accident. The New York Daily News reported that Georgia Department of Natural Resources officials were investigating the incident.
Despite the fact the couple has now split, the 33 year old singer chartered a private plane for ex-wife Foster, who was out of town at the time, to be with her son. She was reported as being "extremely thankful" for the singer's gesture and "rushed immediately to be with her son".
The couple have two children together - four year old Usher Raymond VI and three year old Naviyd Ely Raymond. However, they are in the midst of custody battles over the children. Glover is one of two sons Foster had with Atlanta clothier Ryan Glover.
In the aftermath of the accident Usher's friends, including music mogul Russell Simmons and singer Fantasia Barrino, have taken to Twitter to express their wishes.
"Praying that Usher and Tameka's son is OK...," Simmons tweeted.
"Everyone PLEASE pray for Usher and Tameka's son! This is the time they really need your prayers!" Barrino wrote.
