Victoria's Secret to Open First London Store in Stratford Westfield in Time for Olympics
London's first-ever Victoria's Secret store will open on 24 July, the fashion house has confirmed.
The store will be located in the Westfield shopping centre in Stratford, and will launch just three days before the Olympics begins a few hundred yards away.
Victoria's Secret has also confirmed that a second London store, situated in the exclusive district of Mayfair, will follow in a few weeks' time.
UK fashion blog The Catwalk Queen reports that the Mayfair store will cover three storeys and span a total of 16,500 sq ft.
Initially, it was thought that the Mayfair shop would open first, around 25 July. However it is thought that Victoria's Secret has reversed its launch strategy, in a bid to entice the millions of women who will descend on Stratford during the Olympic games.
Although none of the Victoria's Secret Angels - the world-famous spokesmodels who serve as global ambassadors for the brand - will be attending the Westfield opening, Hungarian model Barbara Palvin has posed for a new collection to mark the launch of the London stores.
Palvin posed in the Victoria's Secret catalogue wearing baby doll camisoles, push-up bras, low-cut teddies, garters and corsets. Victoria's Secret described the collection as "exquisite and delicate, timeless and glamorous, couture meets sexy lingerie."
