Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2015: Selena Gomez shuts down lip-sync accusations
Selena Gomez has not taken kindly to criticism of her Victoria's Secret Fashion Show performance. The Good For You singer was accused of lip-syncing during her set but she promptly shut down the accusations via social media.
Alongside The Weeknd and Ellie Goulding, the 23-year-old graced the runway during the November taping of the fashion show, which aired on 8 December. The former Disney star treated the audience to a medley of hits from her second studio album, Revival, including Hands To Myself and Me & My Girls, but some viewers were not impressed with her performance.
When one Instagram user accused the pop star of miming, she commented under their post: "Yes, I f*****g sing live!" One fan defended the singer on Twitter, stating they would understand if she was lip-syncing due to the energetic performance. They wrote: "Who care if she lip sync all singers do? No one can jump around and dance and still sound good." Another said: "#selenagomez definitely sang live last night. i've seen hundreds of lip-sync performances, she was def live. #vsfs."
The 2015 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show featured the likes of Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Joan Smalls and Leomie Anderson modelling the lingerie brand's latest collection, while the Angels included Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Lily Aldridge and Stella Maxwell. Supermodel Candice Swanepoel had the pleasure of modelling the new Victoria's Secret Fireworks Fantasy Bra, which is valued at £2m ($3m).
R'n'b star The Weeknd performed his Grammy-nominated single Can't Feel My Face, which features on his chart-topping album, Beauty Behind The Madness, while British singer Goulding serenaded the models with her Fifty Shades Of Grey soundtrack song Love Me Like You Do and the track Army, lifted off her latest album Delirium.
