The Walking Dead season 6 episode 9 date: Producer confirms major death, calls second half 'heartbreaking'
The Walking Dead season 6 winter premiere is just little over a month away from release and fans are eager to know how the second half of this explosive season unfolds.
Well, for starters, we all should get ready for a major character's death (possibly at the hands of new villain Negan) once the show returns. In a recent interview with Empire Magazine, The Walking Dead executive producer Greg Nicotero summed up the remaining half of season six as "relentless" and "heartbreaking" before teasing: "If you read the comic book, you know we're climbing towards a major death." (via ComicBook)
Warning: Big spoilers ahead
Most of TWD comic book fans would know what Nicotero is hinting at. If the show sticks to the comic book storyline, then we will get to see the brutal scene where Glenn is beaten to death by Negan. Of course, it's possible that the show might deviate slightly from the source material but based on recent teasers from the cast, some major character is going to be at the receiving end of Negan's barbed wire wrapped baseball bat called Lucille!
Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays Negan, recently spoke about what fans can expect from his character. "As far as I know, it's going to be very much parallel to the comic books," Morgan said during an earlier interview with TV Guide. "If you know what's coming, then I don't have to tell you."
"I'm no p***y! I don't mind handling a baseball bat!" Morgan stated. "I feel real comfortable with Lucille in my hands, let's say that."
The Walking Dead season 6 returns with episode 9 on Sunday, 14 February 2016.
