After a special episode on Sunday, 14 February, Castle season 8 is returning to its usual Monday airtime with episode 11 Dead Red. After being grilled by public defender Caleb Brown, Richard Castle will move on to a new case that will be another dangerous mission for his wife Kate Beckett and him.

The official synopsis of the Episode 11 reads: When the son of a Russian diplomat turns up murdered, Beckett and Castle find themselves in a dangerous game of international crime and punishment, with Castle having to entertain a jovial Russian security officer who winds up more involved than anyone planned.

In the previous episode, defence lawyer Caleb ruthlessly exposed the mystery novelist's history of memory losses, thereby proving him a weak witness for the murder of a well-regarded reporter named Sadie. The lawyer proves that the murder was in fact a crime of passion and that Sadie was killed by her husband when he discovered that the reporter was in a same-sex relationship with Nina.

Castle saw Nina running over the dead body of Sadie and assumed that she killed her. Post the trial, Ryan and Esposito praise Caleb's calibre as a criminal prosecutor but Rick remains shocked after being exposed to his painful past.

In the upcoming episode, he and his detective wife will investigate the murder of a Russian diplomat and during the investigation they become entangled in a web of crime and punishment.

Season 8 is lacking in Caskett romance but fans need not have to wait more as co-showrunner Alexi Hawley has hinted that jealousy will bring them back to their magical romantic best in episode 16.

"in [Episode] 816, we will be doing a little Beckett/Lucy/ Castle [interaction], a bit of jealousy," Hawley told TV Line.
