Singer Whitney Houston, who died on Saturday night at the age of 48, was one of the most popular music artists till the late 90s.

The singer has won several awards including two Emmy awards and six Grammy awards. She has sold more than 170 million albums, singles and music videos. Her song "I Will Always Love You", became the best-selling single by a female artist in music history.

She was married to Boby Brown in 1992 and seperated from him in 2006, after facing drug and marital problems during their marriage. She battled drug addiction for years, which affected her career.

Whitney may have left us but she has given us some of the most stunning and powerful songs ever recorded by a female artist.
