WWE Clash of Champions 2016: Here are the confirmed and rumoured fights
The pay-per-view event will air live from Indianapolis, Indiana on 25 September.
WWE fans are all geared up to witness some exciting fights scheduled to take place at Clash of Champions 2016 in Indianapolis, Indiana on 25 September. Even as WWE has confirmed some of the matches for the upcoming event, there are rumours that Roman Reigns might just take on Rusev for the United States Championship.
Here are the confirmed matches:
Kevin Owens vs Seth Rollins (Raw Universal Championship)
Kevin Owens became the Universal Champion after he defeated Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Big Cass in a four-way fatal match at Raw on 29 August. Owens got some help from Triple H during the match as the latter pedigreed Rollins. During the previous episode of Raw (12 September) Reigns clashed with Owens, but during the match Rollins attacked the Universal Champion and in the process Reigns lost his chance to become the #1 contender to challenge Owens for Raw's top title at Clash of Champions.
New Day vs Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson (Raw Tag Team Championship)
New Day emerged victorious against Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson in the episode that aired on 29 August. However, the latter two showed that they are no joke as the duo defeated Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston in the previous episode of the show.
Charlotte vs Sasha Banks (Raw Women's Championship)
Dana Brooke, Sasha Banks and Bayley contested for the #1 Contendership in a triple threat match on the previous episode of Raw. Banks won the right to challenge Charlotte as she defeated the other two divas after she pinned Bayley for the win.
Chris Jericho vs Sami Zayn
Previously, it was rumoured that Chris Jericho might square off against Roman Reigns. However, the rumour was debunked as WWE announced a match between Jericho and Sami Zayn.
Here are the rumoured matches:
Cesaro vs Sheamus (Best of Seven Series)
There is speculation that Sheamus and Cesaro might have their final fight of the series at Clash of Champions. The sixth fight will most likely take place in the upcoming episode of Raw. Cesaro and Sheamus have won three and two matches, respectively.
Rusev vs Roman Reigns (United States Championship)
Rusev returned to Raw after a month-long absence last week. Rumours about the duo's match at Clash of Champions were fuelled when the champion attacked Reigns in the previous episode of Raw.
