WWE Money In The Bank 2016: Check out the confirmed and rumoured matches
WWE fans are gearing up to witness some exciting matches at the Money In The Bank 2016 event, which is set to take place on 19 June at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. As of now, two matches have been confirmed: the Money In The Bank ladder match and a clash between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Six out of the seven wrestlers have been confirmed to square off in the ladder match. These are: Sami Zayn, Cesaro, Chris Jericho, Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens and former Money In The Bank winner Alberto Del Rio. A seventh wrestler is to be determined.
The winner of the Money In The Bank (MITB) ladder match gets a contract that grants them a title match whenever and wherever they want between now and next year's MITB PPV.
Besides the two confirmed matches here is the latest speculation regarding what we could also see at the event.
1. WWE Tag Team Championship
The New Day vs The Club
The Vaudevillains were given their shot, but came up short against The New Day at the Extreme Rules PPV. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson took The New Day out recently, setting up an apparent feud. Their victory over The Usos at Extreme Rules also makes them tag title contenders.
2. WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
The Miz vs ????
The Miz retained his titled at Extreme Rules 2016 in a fatal four-way match against Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens and Cesaro. His three opponents are in the ladder match however, so he's going to need someone fresh to take on.
3. WWE Women's Championship Match
Charlotte vs Becky Lynch
Charlotte and Becky Lynch could square off at the event as the latter is involved in a bitter feud with recent debutant Dana Brooke, who helped the champion retain her title at Extreme Rules. Charlotte and Dana Brooke are now something of a team, which could put Becky on the path to a title shot. There were also rumblings that there could be a women's MITB ladder match, but there's been no evidence yet.
4. United States Championship match
Rusev vs Titus O'Niel
Titus confronted new US champ Rusev on Raw this past week, so could be in line for a shot. He won't win, but he might give it a shot.
5. John Cena vs AJ Styles
John Cena made his triumphant return from injury on Raw only to be met by AJ Styles, The Club and a sneak attack. AJ turned heel, aligning himself with The Club and setting his sights on Cena. If this is to be a major feud, WWE may take more time building to the first match between them. Or they may face off at Money in the Bank.
Other rumoured matches include:
- Dolph Ziggler vs Baron Corbin
- Golden Truth vs Breezango
- Apollo Crews vs Sheamus
