WWE: The reason Vince McMahon could be looking at Jeff Hardy to fight Finn Balor and Brock Lesnar
Jeff and Matt Hardy made their return at WrestleMania 33.
Vince McMahon is looking to push Jeff Hardy into a main event singles run as soon as possible by making him feud with Finn Balor and current WWE Universal champion Brock Lesnar.
According to GiveMeSports, McMahon's big plans for Jeff could be due to the fact that during his singles run when he won both the WWE Championships he sold a lot of merchandise, even surpassing John Cena's figures.
Besides, the entertainment company has plans for Jeff and Matt Hardy to use their "broken" gimmick soon.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE and the parent company of Impact Wrestling, Anthem, have been holding talks to strike a deal for the "broken" gimmick, which the brothers used to mesmerise fans when they were with TNA until February this year.
The WWE is looking to take full control of the gimmick with a one-time lumpsum deal with Anthem and royalties or a merchandise deal is out of the question.
Jeff and Matt Hardy made their surprise return to the WWE at WrestleMania 33 and won the Monday Night Raw Tag Team Championship as the Hardy Boyz but the company is of the opinion that the brothers' current gimmick will not last. That is the reason they need to bring the "broken" gimmick to the company to make money from the tag team champions. But before the gimmick is introduced in the company the plan is to make the brothers drop the Tag Team Championship.
Jeff and Matt left TNA (Impact Wrestling) after contract negotiations fell apart. Since then the bothers have been involved in a bitter feud with TNA over the "broken" gimmick.
