X Factor to Silver Screen: Simon Cowell Teams up with Australian Film Company
He has already conquered the world of music and Saturday night TV and now Simon Cowell is venturing into Hollywood.
The music mogul's company Syco Entertainment has teamed up with Animal Logic, the Australian Company behind The Lego Movie and Happy Feet.
Announcing the partnership with the animation and visual effects studio the 54-year-old X Factor boss described the new venture as a "dream come true".
"I think their work is pure genius and I really feel excited about the films we are going to be making together," he said.
Syco Entertainment and Animal Logic are expected to release their first film by 2016 after signing a long-term, mult-project contract.
"We are thrilled to bring together the amazing talent, global reach and expertise in popular music of Syco Entertainment alongside Animal Logic's rich history of innovative, cutting-edge animation and universal storytelling," Animal Logic CEO Zareh Nalbandian said.
"I am confident our truly complementary collaboration with Syco will be a very powerful force in family entertainment."
This is not the first time that Syco Entertainment has forayed into film. It previously co-produced One Direction documentary This Is Us, which hit cinemas last year.
