Xiaomi Mi Max to be unveiled in Beijing on 10 May
The wait for Xiaomi's phablet dubbed the Mi Max is finally over. The Chinese phone-maker is all set to unveil the handset on 10 May in Beijing. News about the official launch surfaced after the company teased a photo of the phone on the MIUI forum with the tag line, "A sneak peak at the Mi Max"
The launch of the device was also heralded by the company in a post on Weibo. The forum post asked Xiaomi fans to guess the screen size of Mi Max.
The post stated, "Mi Max is a brand new product line for Xiaomi meaning that the size of 4.7 inches, 5.0 inches, 5.15 inches, 5.5 inches and 7.9 inches are out of choice. Then, from the photo above we found out that Mi Max could be put into the pocket of jeans without any problem. So now let's guess again what could be the size of Mi Max?"
The successor to Xioami's Mi Band dubbed Mi Band 2 could also be unveiled at the event as the company's CEO Lei Jun has shared an image of the wearable.
Further, there is good news for those who are curious to know about the hardware specifications for Xiaomi's upcoming large-screen smartphone, which made an appearance at the GFXBench site.
The 3D graphics performance listing for the Mi Max suggests that the device would sport a 6.4in screen with 1920x1080 pixel resolution. Qualcomm's hexa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz would power the device. Other key features include a 16 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera, with full HD video recording capability.
