Xiaomi to roll out MIUI 8 Global Stable ROM from 23 August
The China Stable ROM will be available on the same date, the company says.
After rolling out beta version, Xiaomi has now announced the Global Stable version of MIUI 8 will be available for users starting 23 August. The update will begin with Redmi 1S, Mi 2 and 2S, Mi 4i, Note 3G and Note 4G. Rest of the devices will get the update soon.
The MIUI 8 China Stable ROM will start seeding on the same date as the global version, said the company. You would see a notification for MIUI 8 once the over-the-air update is available for your handset. Alternatively, click Updater app on phone to manually check for the update.
The devices that are eligible to get the update are Redmi 1S, 2, 2 Prime, Redmi Note 3 Qualcomm, Note 3 Special Edition, Note 2, Note 3G, Note 4G, Note Prime, Redmi 3, Redmi 3S/Prime, Mi 2/2S, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4i, Mi 5, Mi Note and Mi Max 32GB.
Based on Google's Android operating system, the MIUI 8 Global Stable ROM was launched in June 2016 alongside the Mi Max, after the launch in China in May. The global version carries all the features that are present in the Chinese ROM.
MIUI 8, an easy-to-use operating system termed by Xiaomi, brings a new design, major updates in the apps including gallery, notes, calculator, scanner and more. Apart from that you would be able to take advantage of the new user interface, which is now more interactive and colourful than before, as well as several other optimisations.
